Mesmerising and soothing dungeon synth from a Greek/UK-based duo, which made a strong debut in 2020 with 'Lands Of Intrigue' on Mystic Timbre. This follow-up takes things even further into Amn's nostalgic and well-crafted world of sound.

Fascinated with the old Forgotten Realms fantasy universe, Amn draw on influences from the Kosmische musik tradition and the music of old video games, but combine them in a "dungeon drone" approach, where chords are protracted and modulated rather than repeated in a quick succession of chord patterns. This results in a handplayed feel and a highly melancholy expression, which leaves plenty of room for the mind to wander back into the fading memories of long lost fantasy worlds.

The LP incorporates some unique key changes, field recordings and a lot of Mort Garson style synth work. It sometimes reminds me of old 70's PG horror soundtracks. My favorite out of the three I believe.The sound is more aggressive and fits the cover art of what looks like a perilous journey for the protagonist. Fits well at being the second in the trilogy of albums. Every song is good and the cassette tape and package is of good quality. A Great buy that deserves a vinyl edition. Joshua Laleina
