Kaptain Carbon ...solidified the artist's status as a dealer in hypnotic dungeon synth that could lull a listener to dreams or incubate future nightmares. Shadows Of The Eastern Kingdoms is another tentpole release both for the artist as well as Gondolin as the dreary mists inhabit every mile of this record which feels less like an album and more a landscape of dread and despondency. Sombre hypnotic dungeon synth with a distinct otherworldly sound and compelling influences from dark ambient, neofolk and modern classical minimalism. Since the release of The Plagueland Chronicles (GON014) back in 2018, this Virginia-based project has had a flourishing on the dungeon synth scene with the release of a couple of succesful full-lengths.

'Shadows Of The Eastern Kingdoms' collects material previously made available digitally by the artist as 'Shadowfang', 'Duskwood' and 'Medivh's Tower', and also includes a hidden bonus track. The result is well suited for extended meditative listening, and ventures into some of the darker and folkier aspects of the artist's oeuvre.
